The choice to be a work-from-home mom wasn’t easy, or rather, I should say it wasn‘t made lightly. I loved my job and I love to interact with people. But being home with my girls while they are growing up and being present for their milestones was definitely more important.
So what did I do pre-kids? I spent 16 years in the traditional workforce – 13 years as a meeting planner, both in the medical field and for a national association, and then 3 years as a Medical Secretary in a very busy fertility practice. I understand the importance of details. I THRIVE on details and organization. Some would say it’s my passion. My family likes to tease that I am the Queen of Spreadsheets.
So yes, I am a very focused and driven person, but I also understand the importance of balance in life. That’s why I chose to be a Virtual Bookkeeping Professional. Helping business owners with their books enables me to relieve some of their burden and gives me the chance to do something organizational and tasky, which I love, all while still keeping the majority of my days open for raising my girls. It’s a win-win, really.
Fun Facts:
- My husband and I met in Kindergarten, lost touch, and reconnected in our late 30’s.
- I have two beautiful daughters, Hazel and Vivian, and I’m thrilled that I get to be a stay-at-home-mama with them!
- The idea of plants growing gives me the heebie jeebies. I especially can’t watch time-lapse photography of plants growing – shivers up my spine. Weird. I know.
